Winter Dreams - Review

F. Scott Fitzgerald's short story, Winter Dreams, imbues a sadness in my heart. I feel Dexter's pain when he realizes that he has lost his opportunity. "The dream was gone. Something had been taken from him...Why, these things were no longer in the world! They had existed and they existed no longer." There is nothing worse in life than a missed opportunity, especially involving love. I wonder what Dexter did after he heard the news about Judy. Did he purge into sadness and regret, or did he continue on with his own life and not dwell on the past?
